♥ Blessed are the givers..but

That is how much one of the beggar in China Xi An earns PER DAY. Local people had assumed that they earned more than a normal working person.

It is despair to see such a scene, its like they are playing on the heart- string and sympathy of human nature. A very good example, my dad. Last year when we went to Shanghai this lady came and beg for money. The tour guide actually WARNED us NOT to give a single penny to them. According to him this is the government's will. And yes, I ignored the lady. My dad, always with the biggest generous heart on earth, in the end gave her some money. Guess what happened? Im not exaggerating but the fact is there's this whole bunch of beggars roughly round 15 people came for my dad, begging for penny. In the end we had to literally run into a restaurant.

There's always this basic economic laws of Supply and Demand that controls social behaviour: "When a beggar receives a donation (pay for his begging), the market correctly interprets to mean that the market likes beggars and the result is that there are soon more beggars." So...to give or not to give?

China slowly needs to start looking over the needs of the very poorest who are the unfortunate but inevitable victims of the transition to capitalism, and start to deal with these so called beggars who are actually able to get a proper job and live a normal life. May God continue to bless China.

*Thought of the Day: Give the gift of your own smart, focused, enthusiastic action you recieved from God to the world today. There's immense value just waiting to be created, and now is the time to make it happen.
